Eight days had passed and the people of Lepo’ Dempau started their journey. All strong and healthy men were required to join the trip. The kingdom was silent since most of the men had joined the trip. Unfortunately, Oyau Abing wasn’t able to join the trip. He suddenly felt really ill. His whole body ached. His mother was really upset. She thought that Oyau Abing was a coward and he pretended to be sick. So, she cursed and nagged Oyau Abing without first asking about his real condition.
“Oyau Abing, I never knew that you were such a scaredy-cat. You are afraid that the enemy will cut off your head, aren’t you? That’s why you pretended to be sick, right? I am so upset with you.” said Oyau Abing’s mother emotionally. Oyau Abing felt really ashamed and felt an overwhelming sadness. He decided to leave that place as soon as possible. “Perhaps it’s better for me to go somewhere far and maybe look for the spirit of Bali Oman so that it can eat me,” he said to himself.

One fine morning, Oyau Abing packed some rice. He also made sure his hunting equipment such as a machete and spear were ready as well as his hunting dogs. “My beloved mother, I am going on a hunt just to warm up a little,” said Oyau Abing to his mother. “Go ahead, my dear son. Don’t be lazy to do something useful, my beloved son.” replied his mother. Oyau Abing went to the river bank complete with his hunting gear. There he met his two cousins, Balan Ading and Balan Komamoran who were still in their adolescence. They were Balan Nyanting’s younger brothers. Both of them were taking baths and playing happily in the river. Once they saw Oyau Abing, they approached him and ask “Where are you going? Why you’re fully equipped with your hunting gear? Can we tag along?” Oyau Abing refused to bring them so he said “Oi…my dear brothers, you can’t come along because I don’t know when I’ll be back. It seemed that both of you don’t have the proper attire to come with me. If you want to come along, go get your hunting gear first.” He was hoping that both of them will run back home to get their hunting gear meanwhile he can leave. But one of them said, “Oi…my brother you go get our attire and I will wait here in the boat.” Oyau Abing didn’t expect that and now he had no excuse not to bring them along.
They paddled upstream through the steady, still river. They were heading to a place where they used to go hunting. Soon, the dogs seemed alerted. They jumped out of the boat and were barking furiously at a boar. The dogs were the best hunting dogs and very efficient in smelling animals from afar.
“Oi...I will hit it with the spear!” said Balan Ading excitedly. The dogs continuously barked while Balan Ading chased after the boar. He said in a proud manner as he took down the boar “This is me, the great Balan Ading”. Then, he brought the boar into the boat and they kept moving upstream. Not far ahead the dogs found another boar and barked earnestly. “That’s mine. It’s my turn,” said Balan Komamoran. He killed the boar and brought it into the boat and they kept paddling.

Beng sala’ ne dau ketai nyatap-e singket liwai ke meca’ babui ja oban mencam ngeliwa oban se’ gaya’ babui ja. Beng nyakat kebiit ne dau babui ja, ale’-ale’ pokey. Idi lan le dau ketai nyatap e sio’ mane, un oo ngetip tua’ ne uko sio’ batu re dau. Keno ketai Oyau Abing boda’ pak lama’ pepabat ngan babui ja.
Chapter 6: Oyau Abing And Lencau Ca’s Trap
They continued their journey and arrived at a small tributary. The dogs suddenly bayed but this time they held their tails between their legs. They’ve spotted something that they were afraid of. “The dogs’ bark sounds weird. This must be something big and great. This time, let me take this.” said Oyau Abing. His two cousins navigated the boat while he followed the dogs’ bark.

Tai ne ida telu odai metik songai limun kanan, alo songai Kurung Keno atung bodak lodan ja. Metik ibang ta’u mane kuko’ malai tana’ kasu. Enta majo’ bali majan mane, majo’ ngalun ngepo tekun lawa’ iman, beka’ dau asu re telu nyonga, nepecau cin alut, penco mangang mane ca babui barung belengian. Asu tega mung dau da, cin tading buat ne dau ngekek ngening bao’ mane. “Oi, ake tai mecak ya” dau Balan Ading tena janan. Ca tekicuk dau angang asu mane, beng dau re pesakat ne. Idi ne “pan atai Balan Ading tena Janan” dau ja ne oban patai babui bio’ ja. Lepa na’ babui ja kalut, penco tai re telu metik pe laa. Nta lepe co’ pagan bulo’ megang kinan,ya pe kise’ asu didai nyonga laa. Beng dau sekukung pe laa, mangang ca babui barung belengian. “Une’ ja, ayen masa ake” dau Balan Komamoran tepe. Finally, he found the boar. When he took a closer look at the boar, its body
was covered with colourful beads. He tried throwing his spear toward its body
but the spear can’t penetrate its skin. He tried and tried again to hit the
boar with his sharp spear but it missed every single time. The boar really knew
how to elude. The boar also fought back and moved around quickly. Once the
spear hit the boar it reflected back just like it had been thrown to stone.
Oyau Abing followed the boar deep through the jungle. He was getting tired of chasing after the boar and gasping hard for air.

Tisen keti mane, beka’ dau babui ja pisu tene, “ake ji Lencau Ca mata aya pelesan. Kenai uk piit neji dalem kawit ayau lesan sangan”.

The Kingdom of Lencau Ca Aya Mata Pelesan. Oyau Abing took a step back and ran towards the boat where his two cousins were waiting for him. “Are you that coward? Why are you leaving so soon?” said Lencau Ca. “I am not afraid of you. I just want to make a safe place for my brothers,” replied Oyau Abing. While he was running fast towards the boat he could hear the furious shouting “This is me, Lencau Ca Aya Mata Pelesan. You had entered my trap.”
To’ dau ketai Oyau Abing abe’ ke alut te, ya dau-e ala’ tenapan ke belanyat te mane, mentung nebada’ “pek atek bali atan, bali sio keriman, sio nodo ladung tadan, nyain noyan no’ ca batu tungun edan, sokat tepa adang langan” penco molo-e ke’ belua’ songai. Then he recited a magic spell quick and precisely “Pek atek bali atan, bali sio keriman, sio nodo ladung tadan (kenyah language), turn this tenapan into a tall stone pillar, high enough to protect us from any bullet” He threw the tenapan to the middle of the river. It instantly turned to a tall stone pillar. Oyau Abing held his cousins in both hands and jumped really high onto the top of the stone pillar.

bada’ iko peniga kelonan, oban uko’ ca yap toa peput dalem buan le oban o’”. Un
dau Oyau Abing mipa ia, “ Oi, toyang kik sekibang lencau mepan, toyang kua’ serengan,
enta ik oban takut jemelut jelemeyten le, kumin pe sik ke pepatai ngan o’ boka beng
gelam kasu le ake’ engkin”. “Kado’ une’ ki, ano’ koyan-koyan ke dau. Ney, kanan
ne kidi” dau Lencau Ca ke’ ia.

nyain ngepit payang tumit kemeyan, nai mung nai mongan ne baya’ pengin bilin
payan, gelam pengelajam janan, gelam pepatai pepung ponan, cin Lepo’ Dempau naa
pingkan naa solau selawan te” dau e nyebali ka bane. Ceng kiep bolan cep ruun
nalan mane, ya bekilet ne kusun langit ancan te, uko’ bereygang kawang diman, ya
dau tengo baya’ ca layam kasa dau kenai gelam pepatai Oyau Abing Lian Padan re
telu mung.

Let me call upon my war attire now” said Oyau Abing accepting the challenge. “Pek atek Bali atan, Bali sio keriman, sio nodo ladung tadan. Let's take the enemies down, come to me now all my battle gear, my war attire come down from Lepo’ Dempau” said Oyau Abing. In a blink of an eye, all his battle gear came through a storm and strikes of lightning.
“Alright, if that’s what you wish for. Be patient. No need to rush. Let me call upon my war attire now” said Oyau Abing accepting the challenge. “Pek atek Bali atan, Bali sio keriman, sio nodo ladung tadan. Let's take the enemies down, come to me now all my battle gear, my war attire come down from Lepo’ Dempau” said Oyau Abing. In a blink of an eye, all his battle gear came through a storm and strikes of lightning.

Chapter 7 : Oyau Abing Died

same time, the enemies from lepo’ Denta’ shout for their victory. All those who
had died because of Oyau Abing’s kirip also came back to life. Lencau Ca used
his magic power to revive them.

even a footprint. Balan Ading and Balan Kumamoran were running out of ways to
find them. They had no idea where the enemies had disappeared. They don’t know
what to do. Both of them cried sadly because their beloved cousin, Oyau Abing
had died.
