Activities During MCO 2021
COVID had made tremendous changes in lifestyles worldwide.
If we look back at the beginning of the pandemic, many activities can't be done face to face anymore. Most of the work was done through online media. The Kenyah community also utilized social media to further promote the Kenyah Culture to the Kenyah community itself and to the world. These activities also targeted all stages of age in hope that the younger generation will instill interest in our culture.
KEBANA SARAWAK organized two competitions that were Peketun Kancet (traditional dance) and also Peketun Tipet (Kenyah's poetry). These two competitions were done simultaneously. These were the advertisement made by the organizers:

There was also held a Pertandingan Lagu Kenyah (Kenyah Song competition) organized by Lagu Kenyah Group. Apparently, there were many talented singers revealed in this competition. I was so entertained by the songs and felt very proud of all the contestants' efforts and talents.

Another competition was the Saga' Kenyah which means Traditional Kenyah Dance Performance. This competition was organized by Facebook Group Lagu Kenyah in collaboration with Persatuan Kebangsaan Kenyah Sarawak Cawangan Leto Kenyah Baram.

The participants in all these competitions needed to send their videos to the organizer. So far, the participations were very encouraging. The winners were determined by online voters and also the marks given by the judges.
The audiences or the voters were very supportive and no negative feedback was given. A big round of applause to all the organizers for their excellent efforts to promote Kenyah Culture and to make sure that the cultural events can be held in the new norm style. Congratulations!
