TEKENA' BALI KELAPIT JAAT NGAN PART 1/3

            Un dau ca sereta cin kena awang diman. Cin tading tising udip dipan te. Sereta Bali Kelapit jaat ngan, Bali Kelapit nipo kulit du limo man, cin tading awang diman dalau udip du ke Alo Iwan te.

          Once upon a time, there was a story about the wicked Bali Kelapit.  Kelapit is a very dangerous disease that affects the human skin during the early period that the Kenyah Badeng people lived in Alo Iwan. This disease almost caused the Kenyah Badeng people to come to the point of extinction.

~LAING MADANG~

          Un dau peniga bali du dalau ja te jane Laing Madang Kawang Bareng Soran, peniga Bali Enting Siding Sinan, ja je tosa anit berua kalong maan kentak lengan labo ojan, sio’ sakit Bali Kelapit jaat ngan. “Oi.kumin kumin ne sik le ke payen tain? Bali Kelapit jaat ngan tai nasak bolan omak mading melan, nasak osa iung inan berua kalong maan kentak mata tau dentan te”, dau Laing Madang mane.

              In that period of time, the greatest bali or god was Laing Madang Kawang Bareng Soran. He was very worried upon seeing that the humans had caught the disease that was caused by the evil Bali Kelapit. “How can I stop Bali Kelapit from destroying these people?” he thought to himself.

            Oi..tai pey bilin nepai payan bali kado suang kapan Bali Dayung oyan mane, dau e mengin Bali Bila Enting Dingan mane, tai pey mengin Bali Long Wing Toran mane, oyan enting siding sinan, enting jekaring liwang baing necek mepan me berua kalong maan mane, oban ke menting Bali Kelapit jaat ngan.

            He went searching far and wide for other Bali Dayungs (god and goddesses). He called Bali Bila Enting Dingan and he summoned Bali Long Wing Toran to build a magical protection wall for the Kenyah Badeng people.

~SAKIT KULIT NGELATUP~

             Bali Kelapit je nasak kulit limo man, sakit ngelatup je uko baan lasuk re, enta melai tawai oyan, ja je alik dau matai kelonan dalau ja mane. Oi...tai ke ida oyan enting siding sinan laa, enta sokat kelat langan. “Oyan enting siding sinan me ikem berua kalong maan alik tising ngesa tip baya lemojan, engkey telem sokat muko nyekalong ujo jangkang talan tain, engkey telem sokat muko dalem teluk olat iman tain”, meka dau bali dayung de ca.

            Kelapit disease destroys from the outside. It looks like blisters on the skin and it’s very contagious and deadly. The skin becomes blotched and rots even before one dies. Many lives had been taken by this disease caused by Bali kelapit. The Bali Dayungs tried to build a magical protection wall for humans but still couldn’t protect them from the disease. “We are building a protection wall for you humans but why can’t you just stay at home for this time being?” asked the Bali Dayungs (gods or goddesses) when they found out that the humans couldn’t stay still in their home.

     

            “Oi...enta mik sokat ke muko’ nyekalong ujo’ jangkang talan, ngeting batek tiling tawan edo dio kelangan pilu,alik teka kelo koman pilu” dau re mipa. Ja oban dalau udip koro senaak awang diman te ja. Enta pe lan lan oban de atek oban ngelan ke adet re. Naat sik berua kalong maan mane, keno ketai du korang ne. Enta ne kelonan kado laa.

            “We can’t just sit at home doing nothing. We had to go out there and find food to feed our family.” said the humans. At that time, Kenyah Badeng people didn’t really obey their prohibitions. Day by day, their numbers were getting fewer and fewer until there were only a few of them left.  

~BERUA KALONG MAAN KETAI TASAK~     

            “Oii…ketai tasak ne ji berua kalong maan, adi keno ketai re mencat kayat payang boan ne odai, adi kado matai ne du keji odai” dau Laing madang. “oban kumin ne sik le ke payen Bali Kelapit di ne odai?”. Tosa ne Laing Madang tawai oyan pekimet kentak saet sapau atan, taan beruang kalong maan tai peging matai pejelaan ne ida singket tau le mentan.

            “Oh no! Humans are going to vanish soon. There are only a few of them left. They are dying.” said Laing Madang. He was agitated by the thought that Kenyah Badeng people might go extinct soon. Everyday many people died because of the Kelapit disease.

~AMAI PESELONG LUAN~

            “Oi.. tai nik naat Amai Peselong Luan kusun tempan langit ancan te ading, yu ne maan teka ke payen Bali Kelapit jaat ngan di ne” dau Laing Madang. Ja ketai Laing Madang naat Amai Peselong Luan. Un dau Amai Peselong Luan oo, “Oi...un ik tisen lingen sinan lalau balan bali nyingan lalau balan tain? Oban enta pik tisen atek yu au oyan keji”. Kelimpun Peselong Luan keto bali kusun langit te bane mutu Bali Nyingan Lalau Balan ke bali ka bane, enta pe un ek dau badak.

            “I need to go to the Amai Peselong Luan at the highest clouds. It’s so hard to stop those wicked Bali Kelapits” said Laing Madang. Up he went to the highest clouds to ask Amai Peselong Luan for a solution. Amai Peselong Luan said to him, “Do I know where the Bali Nyingan Lalau Balan is? I don’t think so because I haven’t heard from him for ages.” Amai Peselong Luan then gathered all other Bali Dayungs or gods and goddesses to ask them pertaining the Bali Nyingan Lalau Balan whereabouts. His name is actually Bali Karing but was also known as Bali Nyingan Lalau Balan as nyingan means healer.  Unfortunately, the Bali Dayungs also didn’t know where to find him.

             “Oi.. boka idai dik, tai nuk pala’ amai Pelegaing Wan te, ley kumin dau ja miko’ ley tisen pey” dau Peselong odai. Ja ketai Laing Madang odai, madang kawang bareng soran tai pala’ Pelegaing Wan langit ancan mane.

            “I think you should go to Amai Palegaing Wan. He might able to help you.” suggested Amai Peselong Luan. So, Laing Madang flew to another place in the sky kingdom where Amai Pelegaing Wan lives.

~AMAI PELEGAING WAN~           

            “Oi..kumin nuk to, un uk tisen mu, lingen sinan taan betoen toyang bolan Bali Nyingan Lalau Balan mu? Aie supik saik ne tawai oyan taan ketai berua kalong maan salai kuun Bali Kelapit jaat ngan di kentak lengan labo ojan te dik, juko’ kumin kumin ne sik le ke payen Bali Kelapit da ngejaat kelonan ne kentak lengan labo ojan te” dau Laing Madang mane.

            “Amai Pelegaing Wan, do you know where to find Bali Nyingan Lalau Balan? I need his help. The humans are dying every single day because of the Bali Kelapits perpetration.” explained Laing Madang. “I can’t stop Bali Kelapits from destroying the humans.  The humans will perish soon if we don’t help them. Please tell me how to help those humans.” begged Laing Madang.     

            “Oi.. aka pe lan awang diman, kenai asat uk keji dik, un o payen kelonan tai nauk mu? Oban, abo le ilu sokat kelat langan, abo lik ke bada miko’, boka kelonan sokat baya adet tepat, boka re ke muko’ dalem telo’ belat iman, muko’ nyekalong ujo’ jangkan talan, dalem aya tau le mentan, boka re sokat meka dik, ake ke bada’ lote Bali Nyingan Lalau Balan miko” dau Pelegaing wan mane.

            “Before you came here, have you forbid the humans from going out of their houses? I would only tell you if the humans are able to obey us and if they able to just stay at home for eight days then I will tell you where Bali Nyingan Lalau Balan is.” said Pelegaing Wan.
